Sanctuary Students Heathfield provides 426 spacious student bedrooms in an excellent location on the main university campus.

Our accommodation is typically available for new starting undergraduate and postgraduate students. Once the student has accepted their place with Dundee University information on how to apply is sent via email from the University Admissions and Student Recruitment Department.

Sanctuary Students Heathfield Flats provides 71 six-bedroom flats with shared kitchen facilities. Each bedroom has a small double bed, study and storage area and your own private en-suite shower room. Each flat has a large, well-equipped kitchen area with a comfortable dining and lounge area; a great space to socialise with fellow students.

The main accommodation office is located within Heathfield where you’ll find our friendly team from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Heathfield Flats is within a few minutes walk from the centre of Dundee where you will find a great range of restaurants, bars and clubs as well as excellent shopping.

Heathfield Flats is located adjacent to Belmont Tower and Flats in the heart of the University of Dundee campus with easy access to the University sports hall, tennis courts, swimming pool, main library and students association.

Bills, contents insurance, security, maintenance and 250 Mb/s Wi-Fi are all included in your rent, so you can rest assured that these are taken care of.

Heathfield is located in an ideal location for students at the University of Dundee. The residences are right in the heart of the campus and only a few minutes walk from all of the main campus teaching buildings.

Being on campus, residents will be able to make the most of everything the University has to offer. This includes the sports centre, Students Union, swimming pool, tennis courts, library and a mini-supermarket.

If that's not enough we are also located in the fashionable West End, right on the edge of the city centre. We have two theatres and a range of pubs, clubs and restaurants right on our doorstep.

Money matters

Deposit

There is no deposit payable for students at Heathfield Flats.

Houses in Multiple Occupation

These buildings are regulated according to Scottish Housing (HMO) legislation which ensures a high safety and management standard. As part of this, the flats are regularly inspected by the local authority and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Residence Fees are payable according to the University payment guide.

For international students the University of Dundee have partnered with Convera so that students can securely send international wire transfers in their local currency.

Room types

Standard En-suite

Standard en-suite rooms are brilliant value and are fully furnished with a small double bed and en-suite bathroom.

Internet

The University provides a Wi-Fi service in all bedrooms and kitchen/lounges and there are also network connections in all bedrooms. These services provide full internet and email access plus access to all of the campus computing services, subject of course, to the University's acceptable use policy.

Cancellations

Your agreement with the University is for the full period and if you choose to move out before the end of the tenancy, or if your occupancy is terminated as a result of a breach of discipline, you will still be responsible for paying your rent up until the end of your tenancy. However, if a replacement University of Dundee student can be found by you and is approved by the University, they may take over the tenancy. You will need to pay your rent until the replacement tenant has moved in.

Tenancy Agreement

A full contract will be available to download from the University website once you accept your agreement.

TV licence

If you are bringing a TV to watch live TV, or if you receive or record live TV programmes on any other device, such as a laptop, you will need a TV Licence. You won’t be covered by your parents’ licence. Our TV licences only cover the TVs that we provide, for example in common rooms and lounge areas.

For more information and to buy your licence, visit the TV Licensing website. There are a variety of payment plans available.

The TV licensing authorities recognise that most students do not need the final three months of a TV licence as you leave the accommodation during the summer. You may be able to receive a refund for this period, provided that you don’t need your licence again before it expires.

If you do not have a TV Licence but you receive or record live TV you could face prosecution from the TV Licensing Authority.

Do you provide insurance

At Sanctuary Students we offer specialist insurance cover for all of our students through Cover4Students.com.

All of our accommodation is covered as Basic Cover.

Basic Cover Explained

Your possessions, desktop and laptop computer equipment are insured for theft, fire, flood, burst pipes, storm, vandalism, explosion and lightning. Cover applies within your accommodation, in any temporary residence and in transit at the beginning and end of each term.

Parking

On-site parking on the University campus is not available for students unless they have a disability and hold a blue badge. In addition, there is no parking available to guests and visitors.
