How many universities does Salford have?

The University of Salford is located to the west of the historic centre of Salford and less than two miles from the centre of Manchester. It has three campuses: Peel Park, Frederick Road and MediaCityUK – with the former two being under a 10-minute stroll from our student digs at Tramways.

Did you know that Salford is the only university to have a base at MediaCityUK? This hub of all-things creative is a 30-minute bus ride from Tramways. Our student flats also offer a great alternative place to live if you are studying at Manchester Metropolitan University, which is also 30 minutes away by bus.

How many students are there in Salford?

If you choose to study in Salford, you’ll be in good company! Each year, 23,000 students attend the University of Salford, while the Greater Manchester area overall has one of the largest student populations in Europe, with around 100,000 students. In terms of the best areas for student accommodation, it much depends on what you’re studying. If you’re going to be attending lectures at Peel Park or Frederick Road campuses, our student flats at Tramways are perfectly positioned, while media students might be drawn closer to MediaCityUK (though it’s worth noting that the uni offers free bus travel between the campuses).
