City, University of London is part of the larger federal University of London. It was founded in 1894 as Northampton Institute and was created when it joined with The Inns of Court School of Law and was granted its charter in 1966.
City, University of London is based in Islington and has campuses in the City, the West End and East End. There are around 20,000 students in total, a mix of undergraduates and postgraduates.
The university was ranked the top in London for student satisfaction and 36th in the UK. It specialises in business, law and the main city professions. It has an excellent reputation and consistently ranks highly in university league tables.

City, University of London is based in Islington, between The Angel and Farringdon. It’s a nice part of London close to King’s Cross, University College London Hospital, London College of Fashion, Golden Lane, York St John University, The Charterhouse, Barbican Centre, St Bartholomew's Hospital, Sadler's Wells Theatre, The Postal Museum, Charles Dickens Museum and local shopping, dining and entertainment.

Transport in London
As Britain’s capital, transport links into and out of London are plentiful.
London has access to multiple airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, London City, Stansted and Luton. All are linked to the city via road, rail and coach.
London has multiple railway stations that cover the entire United Kingdom and Europe. Stations include London Liverpool Street, St Pancras International, King's Cross St Pancras, Waterloo, Paddington and many others.
The London Underground (tube) covers the entire city of London with several lines criss-crossing the city including Russell Square, Warren Street, Tottenham Court Road and London Euston Station, which are all just minutes from your student accommodation.
London also has lots of road links but driving in the city can be a challenge. There is also the London Congestion Charge to consider as well as parking!
