About Imperial College London

Imperial College London was created as part of Prince Albert’s vision of a progressive system of education and research. First launched in 1907, the college merged the Royal College of Science, Royal School of Mines, and City and Guilds College into a single institution.

The college is known for science, engineering, technology, business and medicine. All of its courses have these five topics as their focus.

Courses include aeronautical engineering, bioengineering, computing, materials, chemistry, mathematics, physics, brain sciences, immunology and inflammation, infectious diseases, finance, innovation & entrepreneurship, and management.

The main campus at Imperial College London is in South Kensington, with satellite campuses in White City, Silwood Park and within teaching hospitals in the capital.

The college has around 19,500 students divided between undergraduates and postgraduates.
