The London School of Economics (LSE) was founded in 1895 and joined the University of London in 1900. It didn’t become the London School of Economics until 2008.

The university is based in Westminster and has around 12,000 students including undergraduates and postgraduates. It offers over 140 degree courses and numerous postgraduate courses, including PhD courses.

It is the highest ranked university in London and 3rd in the UK after Cambridge and Oxford.

It is known mainly for business and economics, politics, sociology, law and other subjects. It counts former Nobel Prize winners, world leaders, heads of state and business leaders as former students, and has apparently educated more billionaires than any other university in the world.

The London School of Economics is located in Westminster, minutes from Holborn and Temple.

Sanctuary Students don't believe in hidden charges or fees. All rents are clearly advertised, all bills are inclusive and there are no extra fees or charges. The only exceptions would be for damage or extra cleaning, but that’s standard.

All you need to pay is your rent, food and whatever you have for your room. If you bring your own TV and watch live TV in your room, you will need a TV licence, otherwise, no fees, no charges.

Yes, all our London student housing is fully furnished. Rooms are en-suite and include all furniture. They are also equipped with all living items and everything you’re likely to need.

All you’ll need to bring is your bedding, kitchenware and any special items you cannot live without.

Sanctuary Students has several buildings around London. They include Whitechapel, Newington, King’s Cross, Mile end, WC1, E1, E3 and N16. We’re always looking for new buildings to turn into amazing private student halls, so will be expanding this list as we go.

All our London School of Economics student accommodation is close to tube stations, bus routes, taxis, Uber and other forms of transport.

You’ll be able to walk to some colleges and universities and the tube can take you everywhere else.
