About the University of the Arts London

As the name implies, the University of the Arts London specialises in art, fashion, performing arts and design. It comprises the Chelsea College of Arts, the London College of Fashion, Camberwell College of Arts, Central Saint Martins, the London College of Communication and the Wimbledon College of Arts.

The main campus is based in Holborn and is close to Chancery Lane tube.

It’s a highly regarded school, recently ranked #2 in the UK for art and design and 84th for student satisfaction.

The University of the Arts London has around 18,500 students across the multiple colleges made up of both undergraduates and post graduates.

London is an amazing place to be a student. The University of the Arts London has multiple campuses across the city in the old colleges, all of which will be close to city highlights.

Our University of the Arts London student accommodation is also spread across the city and will be in close proximity to each campus that makes up the university. They will be a short walk, bus or tube ride away, making it easy to get to class and to enjoy everything London has to offer.

The main University of the Arts London campus is just minutes from The British Museum, Sir John Soane's Museum, the Museum of Freemasonry, Royal Courts of Justice, Chinatown, Tottenham Court Road, Shaftesbury Avenue, Leicester Square, The National Gallery, Covent Garden, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Carnaby Street and Soho.

Birkbeck, University of London is in a great part of town, in Bloomsbury. It’s a short distance from the main shopping areas of Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road, Camden, Soho, Leicester Square, Carnaby Street, Saville Row and Covent Garden.

It’s also close to The British Museum, University of Westminster Cavendish Campus, The Regent's Park, Lincoln's Inn Fields, The Sherlock Holmes Museum, Charles Dickens Museum, The British Library and other cultural highlights.

Transport in London

The city is a short distance from six international airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick, City Airport, Southend Airport, Luton Airport and Stansted Airport. Each airport has road and/or rail links to the capital.

London is also a rail hub with stations providing rail links to the whole of the UK. Stations include Paddington, Euston, Waterloo, King’s Cross St Pancras, St Pancras International (Eurostar), Liverpool Street and Clapham Junction to name just a few.

The London Underground (the tube) makes getting around the city easy. It has several distinct lines and hundreds of stations, many of which run 24/7.

Buses are also plentiful and can run 24/7.

Getting around London by car can be challenging but is made easier by the motorway system. London is surrounded by the M25 and has fast access to the M1, M11, A12, M2, M3, M4 and minor routes.
